Release Notes v 3.21 (Jan 14, 2019)

 

Topic: Changing Bulk Pipe to Threaded Removes End Preps

 

Pipes on a bulk pipeline can be edit in the Add/Edit Pipes dialog.

Changing the size of pipes on a bulk pipeline was causing the end preps to appear blank.

This concern has been addressed. Bulk pipeline can be edited and will maintain the proper end preps.

 

Topic: Threaded Cut Pipe Report Missing Pipe Type in Header

 

The Cut Pipe Report did not display a header for pipe type.

This concern has been addressed. The Cut Pipe Report displays a header for pipe type.

 

Topic: Dash Can't be Entered for Pipe Length

 

A Please enter a valid length dialog would appear when a dash was entered into the Length field in the Add/Edit Pipes dialog.

This concern has been addressed. A dash does not propmt a warning dialog in the Length field in the Add/Edit Pipes dialog

 

Topic: Hourly Rate Not Saving Properly

 

The Hourly Rate field is located in the Fab Labor pane.

Hourly Rate was not being saved when the Save button was selected.

This concern has been addressed. Hourly Rate saves as expected.

 

Topic: Charge for Pre-grooved Pipes Removed

 

The Full stick BxB pipe will be Roll Grooved checkbox option is available in the Fabrication Standards dialog.

Grooved charges were still being added to pipes when the Full stick BxB pipe will be Roll Grooved option was selected.

This concern has been addressed. Grooved charges are not added to pipes when the Full stick BxB pipe will be Roll Grooved option is selected.

 

Topic: Material Pick Sheets Combined

 

Each section of the material pick report was listed as its own report. This caused excess paper to be used to print reports.

The Material Pick Reports have been consolidated into four report types: Material Pick Report: Pipes, Material Pick Report: Pipe Outlests, Material Pick Report: Sprinklers, Material Pick Report: All Combined.

This concern has been addressed. Material Pick Reports have been combined so that all Material Pick Reports can be printed at one time.

 

Topic: Length Trimmed from Material Pick Report: Pipes

 

The length field was being trimmed on the Material Pick Report for pipes for large values.

This concern has been addressed. The length field is not trimmed from the Material Pick Report: Pipes.

 

Topic: Access Parts Book in Fab Files from Versions Prior to Parts Book

 

Users could not access new parts and parts from their parts book when they opened a file that was created in a version of FAB prior to parts book updates.

This concern has been addressed. Users can new parts when they open a .FAB was created prior to creation of a new part.

 

Topic: Typical Pieces Display the Pipeline and Piece Number

 

Typical pipe labels were listing with the pipeline and peice number rather than assigning each typical pipeline a T designation with an ascending numerical value for each new pipeline.

This concern has been addressed. Typical pipelines now list as with the T designation in ascending numerical order. For example, pipeline one is designated T-1, pipeline two is designated T-2, ect. This ensures that the proper information appears when information is exported to Firelist.

 

Topic: Progress Bar

 

A progress movie has been added when AutoSPRINK FAB is checking branchlines and generating barcodes, and when it is generating stocklisting reports.

This update has been made to improve user experience.

 

Topic: Pipe Types Appearing on Threaded and Welded Reports

 

Some pipe types were not designated to appear on Threaded or Welded reports.

This concern has been addressed. Dyna-thread, eddy-thread, and mega-thread have been added designated to threaded reports. Dyna-Flow, Eddy-Flow, and Mega-Flow have been designated to Welded reports.

 

Topic: Fitting Reports Combined

 

Multiple reports were created for grooved fittings, grooved couplings, and misc. fittings. This made it difficult to anticipate which report a specific fitting might be on.

This concern has been addressed. Reports for grooved fittings, grooved couplings, and misc. fittings are now grouped together.

 

Topic: Legacy Part Numbers Update

 

Some pipes required an update to their Legacy part number or did not have an associated Legacy part number.

This concern has been addressed. Several Legacy Parts have been updated in the parts database.

 

Topic: Import Schedule 40 Pipe Change Causes Pipe to be Removed

 

Pipes can be edited in the Add/Edit Pipes dialog.

Schedule 40 pipes that were changed to Schedule 30 no longer appeared in the Add/Edit pipe dialog.

This concern has been addressed. Pipes that are changed from Schedule 40 to Schedule 30 are not removed from the Add/Edit Pipes dialog.

Topic: The Pipe is Not Long Enough to Support the Location of the Outlet Message

 

The "Pipe is not long enough to support the location of the outlet" message appears when the offset of an outlet is set to be larger than the pipe.

The message appeared when certain IGS outlets were modified.

This concern has been addressed. IGS outlet modifications do not cause a warning message to appear.

 

Topic: Number of Bundles Text Trimmed

 

The Number of Bundles text was being trimmed by the PO/PICKED/SHORT field in the Material Pick report.

This concern has been addressed. The full Number of Bundles description displays in the Description, Finish field of the Material Pick report.

 

Topic: Delete Button Default in Add/Edit Pipes

 

The delete button was set as the default button selection in the Add/Edit Pipeline dialog.

This concern has been addressed. The Edit Pipe button is now selected by default in the Add/Edit Pipeline dialog. This prevents users from deleting pipes accidentally.

 

Topic: Limit Choices for Makeons

 

Makeons can be added to pipes in the Add/Edit Pipe dialog.

Filters have been applied to the Add/Edit Pipe dialog to limit the choices that appear to compatible selections in the dialog.

This update saves designers time when listing pipes and cuts down on the time that it takes the program to find components for pipes.

 

Topic: Mouse Scroll Changes Material View Numbers

 

Values in the Materials View were being changed when the scroll wheel was used with a field selected.

This concern has been addressed. The scroll wheel no longer changes values in the Materials View.

 

 

Release Notes v 1.3.19 (Dec 28, 2018)

 

Topic: Import Options Available for Incompatible Sprinkler Heads

 

The Import and Domestic radio options in the Add/Edit Sprinkler Heads dialog gave users the option to select Import as a Sprinkler Head's origin when the specific parts were exclusively available domestically.

An update has been made that filters parts based on origin. This update filters out selection options that are not compatible with selected parts.

Origin is now selected using a drop-down menu that populates with compatible options rather than choosing between two radio options.

 

Topic:Welded Labels Do Not Match Cut Pipe Piece Report Order

 

Labels did not print in the same order as they appeared in the Cut Pipe Report.

This concern has been addressed. Labels print in the order that they appear in the Cut Pipe Report.

 

Topic: Outlet Size Change Prompts Notification

 

Outlets can be added to a Pipe using the Outlets section in the Add/Edit Pipe dialog. The Edit button in the Outlets section opens the Outlet Properties dialog.

A notification appeared when a new pipe with an outlet was added and then the outlet size was changed.

This concern has been addressed. No notification appears when an outlet size is changed on a new pipe.

 

Topic: Welded Labels Sorted to Match the Branch Line Report Order do not Match the Pipeline Order.

 

Typical pipes were being printed at the beginning of a set of labels rather than matching the order that they are listed in the Branch Line report.

This concern has been addressed. Labels are now printed in the same order as they appear in the Branch Line Report.

 

Topic: Makeon Section Enabled for Ineligible Pipes

 

The Make-on section was not disabled in the in the Add/Edit Pipe dialog when both end preps were grooved.

This concern has been addressed. Make-on selections are now disabled if both end preps on a pipe are grooved.

 

Topic: Hanger Material Grouping Removed

 

Hanger Material Grouping options in the Listing Report Options dialog have been removed. The default option is now to group hangers by list area.

This update has been made in order to improve hanger material grouping while development on hangers is in progress.

 

Topic: Piece Sorting in the Inspection Pane

 

Pieces on a pipeline where not being sorted in the appropriate order in the Inspection Pane.

This concern has been addressed. Pieces are not sorted alphanumerically in the Inspection Pane.

 

Topic: Remove Ability to Edit End Prep from the Inspection Pane.

 

The ability to edit end preps has been removed from the Inspection Pane.

This update has been made in order to resolve listing issues related to changes to end preps in multiple panes.

 

Topic: DynaThread End Preps

 

The end preps for DynaThread Products are now listed as TXT by default.

This update has been made to reflect industry standards.

 

Topic: Pipe Type Changes Not Retained

 

Any pipe type that was changed was not being saved. The pipe type would return to the default once the new value was entered.

This concern has been addressed. Pipe type changes are retained on selection.

 

Topic: End Preps Not Retained when Exported from AutoSPRINK

 

End prep selections were not retained when the file was exported from AutoSPRINK and then imported into AutoSPRINK FAB.

This concern has been addressed. End prep selections are retained from files exported from AutoSPRINK.

 

Topic: New Export to ITF Options

 

An option has been added to Custom ITF Exports that will convert an ITF to a tab-delimited file.

This is a new feature that has been added due to user request.

 

Topic: Pipe Sticks Listed in Descending Order

 

The Welded Cut Pipe report listed full pipe sticks in descending order.

This concern has been addressed. The full stick order has been reversed and the Welded Cut Pipe report lists starting with the lowest pipeline number.

 

Topic: Consistency Between Hangers in AutoSPRINK and AutoSPRINK FAB

 

Some hanger descriptions were not consistent between AutoSPRINK and AutoSPRINK FAB.

This concern has been addressed. Hanger descriptions have been updated for consistency.

 

Topic: Filter Out Fittings Not Appropriate for Selected End Preps

 

A pipe can be added or edited in the Add/Edit Pipe dialog. Make-ons that are not compatible with end prep solutions are now filtered out when the user selects an end prep.

This update has been made to improve search times for compatible parts and to increase load times.

 

 

Release Notes v 1.3.18 (Dec 18, 2018)

 

Topic: Retain Original Outlets if Pipe Creation is Canceled

 

Pipes can be added to a pipeline by using the Add/Edit Pipe... option in the Actions menu. This opens the Add/Edit Pipeline dialog. Click the Add Pipe button to add a pipe to the selected pipeline. The Add Pipe button causes the Add/Edit Pipe dialog to appear

Changes to pipes in the Add/Edit Pipe dialog were maintained when the user click the Cancel button.

This concern has been addressed. Changes will not be saved if the user clicks cancel when adding or editing a pipe.

 

Topic:  Start Page No Longer Displays Last Job and Fab Labor Info

 

Information from the FAB file most recently opened appeared in the Job Info and Fab Labor panes when the Start Page was viewed.

This concern has been addressed. The Job Info and Fab Labor panes are now grayed-out when the start page is viewed.

 

Topic: Notification When Setting Outlet Offset

 

Outlets can be added to a Pipe using the Outlets section in the Add/Edit Pipe dialog. The Edit button in the Outlets section opens the Outlet Properties dialog.

A "The offset length is invalid" notification appeared when users typed a number followed by a hyphen in the Offset field of the Outlet Properties dialog. For example, if a user typed "9-" the notification would appear. This notification appears to notify the user that the current value is not a valid offset. A valid offset cannot end in a hyphen.

This concern has been addressed. The notification "The offset length is invalid" only appears when the user enters a number followed by a dash symbol and clicks the OK button.

 

Topic: Export Weld Pipe List Option Renamed

 

The Export Weld Pipe List... option is available in the File menu.

The Export Weld Pipe List... option has been renamed Export Welded Pipeline List...

This update has been made in order to clarify the function of this option.

 

Topic: Reports Can't be Generated During Pipeline Creation

 

Users were able to click the Stock Listing Reports button on the Main toolbar when the Add/Edit Pipeline dialog was open.

Reports can't be generated when pipes are being added or edited.

This concern has been addressed. Users can't click the Stock Listing Reports button on the Main toolbar when the Add/Edit Pipeline dialog is open.

 

Topic: Welded Outlet Numbering

 

Outlets are assigned an outlet number based on their offset and angle. The outlet that is angeled up and has the smallest offset is assigned as outlet one. Each outlet following is assigned in ascending order with outlets with the same offset listing those angeled up before those angled down.

Outlets on a pipe were not listed in order based on their offset in the Add/Edit Pipe dialog.

This concern has been addressed. Outlets are now listed in the Outlets section of the Add/Edit Pipe dialog in ascending order based on their offset and angle.

 

Topic: Line Label Added to Add/Edit Pipe

 

The Add/Edit Pipe dialog has been updated to include the Pipeline Name associated with the pipe piece that is currently selected.

The Pipeline Name appears above the Outlets section and is titled Line Label.

This update has been made to increase the accessibility of the Add/Edit Pipe dialog.

 

Topic: Outlet Defaults to Last Created Outlet

 

Outlets can be added to a Pipe using the Outlets section in the Add/Edit Pipe dialog. The Edit button in the Outlets section opens the Outlet Properties dialog.

The Outlet Properties dialog reset each time a new outlet was added.

This concern has been addressed. The Outlet Properties dialog retains the information input when the previous outlet was created.

 

Topic: Pipeline Header Label Missing from Hanger Bundle Station Report

 

The Hanger Bundle Station Report lists hangers together in bundles based on hanger type and rod length.

No header label appeared for the pipeline column in the Hanger Bundle Station Report.

This concern has been addressed. The header label "Pipeline" now appears above the list of pipeline names in the Hanger Bundle Station Report.

 

Topic: Database Connection Dialog When Stock Listing

 

A dialog appeared to report a Database Connector notification when Threaded Labels and Welded Labels were generated with the Match the Threaded Cut Pipe Report and Match the Welded Cut Pipe Report options selected in the Listing Report Options dialog.

This concern has been addressed. A Database Connector notification dialog does not appear when Threaded and Welded Labels are generated.

 

Topic: Reports and Labels Display Dashes Between Pipeline Name and Number

 

Two hyphens appeared between the pipeline name and piece number in labels and reports.

This concern has been addressed. The two hyphens between the pipeline name and piece number in labels and reports have been replaced by a single space in all reports for clarity.

 

Topic: All Thread Rod Hanger Size Changed to 3/8" x 10'-0

 

The size automatically inputs a default size when a Description is selected from the Add/Edit Loose Material dialog.

The default sizes for ATR type hanger components has been changed to 3/8" x 10'-0.

This update has been made to reflect industry standards.

 

Topic: Hanger Components Not Appearing on Hanger Pick Station Fabrication Report

 

Hanger components can be added as loose material using the Add/Edit Loose Material dialog.

Hanger components that were added as loose material appeared in the Material Summary, but did not appear in the Hanger Pick Station Fabrication Report.

This concern has been addressed. Hanger components added as loose material appear in the Hanger Pick Station Fabrication Report.
